Wedding Dress Code – What It Means and How to Dress.
The wedding invitation has just arrived in you mailbox, you have the honor to take part and be a guest on the bridal couple's big day. It is a day of joy and happiness, but one question that many are considering and that can raise many concerns: what is the dress code at this particular wedding you're invited to, and what does it really mean?
You can usually divide the level of the dress code into five different parts and be labeled with what the man's clothing is, but what is the woman wearing and what colors are allowed and not allowed to wear? We have now created a guide for you that gives an easier explanation of what each dress code means.
Tailcoat
Tailcoat or formal dress is the most formal and the highest level when it comes to the dress code. All men should wear a tailcoat with a white shirt and a vest. As a woman, the dress code says that you should wear a dress that suits with a tailcoat, in other words, a long dress that goes to your feet. It is allowed to glitter a lot and wear it in the color you want, you can even wear gloves to your dress. It is very difficult to be too dressed up with this dress code as the bridal couple's wish is that all guests should be really well-dressed. If the bridal couple enter this dress code, it is very important that you adhere to it and not come in less formal clothes.

Tuxedo/Black tie
When Tuxedo or Semi-formal attire is in demand, men come to the wedding in tuxedos of dark type: black, dark gray and navy blue are colors that goes well. The tuxedo should have a side stroke on both pants and jacket. You combine this with a white shirt and black bow tie.
The woman's attire means a tuxedo dress that can be two-part, full-length or from the knees down. Dresses with both long and short arms are suitable for this dress code and if you wish you can wear gloves. One guideline is that if the dress is slightly shorter, then it should be more dressed up to balance the length of the dress.
DARK SUIT
Dark suit is a fine dress but not as well dressed as a tailcoat or tuxedo, you then wear a dark suit with a vest and tie or bow tie, it should usually be monochrome and in any of the colors dark blue, gray and black. Unfortunately, as a woman, it is not as easy to interpret this dress code, but what you should bring is that you should wear a dress or skirt.
You should be dressed up but not “too nice”, if you are dressed up, it is very easy for you to transcend someone else. The rules that follow this dress are that the dress must be from the knees down, the dress should also cover the shoulders, the option that you wear a shawl to the dress. Since the level of the dress code can be a bit diffuse, it can be good to ask the bride and groom what they think.

JACKET/SUIT
Jacket is a more casual dress code, in the past this dress code and dark suit went hand in hand but today it has instead been divided into two levels to facilitate the guests. Even here you should not be too nice, it is hard to be sure about what the host couple really mean, so ask them to be on the safe side. For men, this means that you can wear a jacket of any color, the pants may belong to the jacket but it is not a must.
Vests are not normally used in this dress code, but ties are still a requirement. For the ladies you should wear a nicer dress but it should not be too nice so that it belongs to the evening dress category or be too festive. It is perfectly possible to wear pants and a jacket or a skirt along with a blouse to this dress code. The same basic rules continue into this level of dress code where you should cover your shoulders, do not wear too prominent neckline and your choice of clothing must at least go to your knees.
