A good fit through life
The ring should not strangle the finger, nor should it fall off. The ring should fit comfortably and not be too present and chafe. Just like the rest of your body, the fingers change sizes over time. This means that a ring that fit perfectly ten years ago might not do as well today. Except for time, other factors such as weather and pregnancy might affect the fit of a ring. When pregnant, fingers may swell, and the hands and feet appear bigger. A great solution to this is to try the ring on multiple occasions at different day hours and compare the fit.
Just like shoes
Ring size is easily compared and very similar to shoe size - it is rarely any difference with half size. Therefore, we recommend all customers who are in between sizes to always go with the smaller size.
The knuckle
At VANBRUUN, we have noted that many of our customers assume that the ring should easily slide off the finger’s knuckle; however, this is not the case. For the ring to sit safely on the finger, the ring mustn’t fall off your knuckle. A perfect fit is when the ring is wiggled and twisted across the knuckle to come off.
Which size do we use?
At VANBRUUN we use the European size, which is one of the most common and indicates the circumference on the inside of the ring. (For example 50.3, 51.5 or 52.2)
How to measure with our ring sizer
Push the end of the ring sizer through the other to create a loop.
Thread your finger and tighten so that you cannot pull the strap over the knuckle. Then you will find the correct ring size.

Recommendations when measuring
The dominant hand is usually slightly larger, make sure you measure with the right finger.
Think about the width of the ring you are going to wear. Wider rings become slightly smaller on the finger while neater rings often feel slightly larger.
Make sure you have a normal body temperature when measuring your size, the size of your finger changes depending on whether you are hot or cold.
Your ring size can vary depending on the time of day, try to measure at slightly different times of the day.
