ABOUT DIAMOND CERTIFICATES
Diamond certificates act as proof of authenticity and provide assurance that the diamond in question is the real deal and not a counterfeit stone such as cubic zirconia. A diamond certificate keeps essential information about the diamond, such as the 4Cs (cut, carat, color, clarity). It is also great to maintain a certificate if you wish to resell the diamond in the future. All certificates do not look the same, even though they might be from the same institution. Factors such as when the certificate was issued, and carat weight may affect the layout and exact information provided. When purchasing a diamond that is obligated for a certificate, you will receive the certificate in paper form, with the possibility of viewing an online version as well.
Which diamonds are certified at VANBRUUN?

DIAMOND CERTIFICATE FOR LAB GROWN DIAMONDS
The certified lab grown diamonds at VANBRUUN come with a certificate from IGI (International Gemological Institute), which is the world's largest gemological institute. Some of our lab grown diamonds are graded by GIA, please read more about the GIA below.
DIAMOND CERTIFICATE FOR natural diamonds
Our natural diamonds are always graded by GIA (Gemological Institute of America), GIA has three different types of certificates.

DIAMOND grading report
The paper form of the certificate.

DIAMOND dossier (less detailed)
This certificate is less detailed and is commonly used for diamonds less than 1.0 carat. It does not include an illustration of the diamond showing the location of inclusions. The certificate is smaller in size compared to a full-scale grading report, and it includes several security features, such as UV details and holograms.
DIAMONd e-report
The digital version of a certificate. This type of certificate displays actual images of the diamond. However, the certificate is only available in electronic format and cannot be printed.
